Newsletter – July 2016

1. Latest news from Cyd Ynni: Ynni Lleol project

In the last newsletter, we mentioned a short film featuring the Cyd Ynni: Ynni Lleol project. We are delighted to report that this is now online. You can view it on the Energy Local website: http://www.energylocal.co.uk/ – scroll down and you’ll see it in the column on the right; or on SmartEnergy GB’s YouTube channel at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3z8GrTBLw8M. In around four minutes, it provides a great (bi-lingual) introduction to the project and its aims.

2. Report from SWELL information day

We were pleased to bring together many SWELL participants and representatives of all project partners earlier this week to explore some facts, figures and learning from the project over its first six months.

It was great that so many participants were able to come along, particularly as we met during the working day. An informal lunch provided an opportunity for people to talk together about the project and what they had learnt so far. One participant had acted on information received via SWELL to fit LED lightbulbs, and reported that as well as reduced energy use, they’d also been pleased with the improved lighting. Robin’s Energy Local presentation about how we analyse the project data was well-received and prompted a lively set of questions on the details of the project to date.

4. Next newsletter in September

Energy Local will be busy over the summer, particularly on the next critical stage of the Cyd Ynni: Ynni Lleol project. However, we know that lots of readers will be away, particularly over the school holidays, so we’re not planning another newsletter until September. Have a great energy-shifting-and-saving summer!
