Energy Local Newsletter

March 2015

Our general newsletter to keep all those interested in Energy local up to date.

RSA Presentation

As a Fellow of the RSA (Royal Society for the encouragement of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce), Mary was invited to ‘pitch’ Energy Local at a prestigious ‘RSA Engage’ event they held in Somerville College, Oxford on 24th March.

This has engaged the enthusiasm of and gained extra support from other RSA Fellows. Click here for details.

The team grows

We welcome aboard Pete Benson who has joined Energy Local this month.

An avid environmentalist and voluntary Friends of the Earth coordinator for Chester & District he has worked on other energy saving projects and is about to qualify as a Domestic Energy Advisor (able to produce the EPCs – Energy Performance Certificates – required when you sell your home).

Initially helping out with Project administration & support we hope to extend his role later.

SWELL almost swollen

There are just a few places left on the SWELL programme.

If you know of anyone in the Watchfield, Shrivenham and Longcot areas who may be interested please ask them to sign up to register their interest.

Load Monitoring starts

‘Load Monitoring’ is starting among the SWELL participants. Monitors are being loaned out to capture a day’s data from each home to give us a baseline to compare against later. It will also give an indication of what type of appliances you use when, to help you work out what usage you could shift to when the price of power could be cheaper.
